What LaunchGuard does

LaunchGuard crawls publicly accessible web applications to find cost and security vulnerabilities — places where someone could run up your cloud bill or where sensitive data may be unintentionally exposed. We read your public pages, discover API endpoints, detect what technologies you use, and check for database security misconfigurations. Pro tier uses AI to analyze cost risks in depth.

What the scan actually does

• Fetches publicly accessible pages, JavaScript bundles, and HTML.
• Discovers API endpoints from code analysis, common patterns, and public docs (like OpenAPI specs).
• Detects technologies, frameworks, and third-party services.
• Enumerates subdomains and related domains via DNS.
• Checks for database security misconfigurations such as missing access controls (row counts only — no actual data is read or modified).
• Pro tier: uses AI to analyze which endpoints could be exploited for cost attacks, and estimates the damage.

The scan behaves like a curious visitor — it reads what's publicly available. It does not attempt login, create accounts, send destructive requests, extract data, or bypass any access controls.

You must have permission

By starting a scan, you confirm that:

• You own the target application, or the owner has given you permission to scan it.
• You understand the scan generates real network traffic to the target.
• You take responsibility for any consequences of running the scan.

Don't use LaunchGuard to

• Scan applications you don't own or have permission to test.
• Attack or degrade any application's performance.
• Exploit vulnerabilities you discover through the service.
• Violate any law.

No guarantees

LaunchGuard is provided as-is. We don't guarantee that scan results are complete or accurate — a clean report doesn't mean you have no cost risks. We're not liable for damages arising from your use of the service or from actions you take based on scan results. You agree to hold us harmless from any claims arising from your use of LaunchGuard.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
